Dividing the vehicle into two contrasting pieces gives the advantage of visually slimming it down as its compact proportions are challenging. Making the canopy modular is also of essence for providing different versions.

Only few colours are necessary for the Smart Roadster to be recognizable, as well as strong graphics on a uniform body, shining details make it stand out from the masses

The new Smart Roadster is meant to evoke a sense of sophisticated fun like no other vehicle on the road. Using a compact electric drive unit the dimensions can be redefined, moving the greenhouse forward and shortening the overhangs. This keeps the compactness of the original Smart Roadster while adding more internal volume.

The canopy can be configured as a targa or even shooting brake, extending the glass to the back of the vehicle and thus creating more storage room. Not only is it fun and luxurious but also totally Smart in its tracks.
